Peter Reed is a Partner at The Caldwell Partners International, Stamford, Connecticut office and a member of the Financial Services Practice. Drawing on expertise gained from a career devoted exclusively to the insurance industry, Peter provides clients with a disciplined and focused consultative approach to search execution that ensures timely and impactful results.

Peter specializes in the property and casualty insurance industry. He represents domestic and global companies across all sectors of the industry including carriers, brokers, and industry related service providers. Peter has performed senior level searches across all functions including general management, underwriting, sales and marketing, distribution, finance, operations, technology, enterprise risk management, claims, actuarial, and human resources. He has successfully completed multiple CEO, COO, CFO, CUO, CRO, and Board Director engagements. Peter has extensive experience working with a variety of private equity firms that have strategic investments in either startup or turnaround insurance companies.

Prior to Caldwell, Peter was a Partner and member of the Financial Services Practice at CTPartners. Previously, Peter spent 10 years as a key member of the Global Insurance Practice with Korn/Ferry International. An industry veteran, Peter developed his deep understanding of the industry while with The Chubb Group. Initially, he was a Senior Excess Umbrella Underwriter based in New York. Later he relocated to Chicago as a Senior Commercial Lines Underwriter. Peter began his career as a Workers’ Compensation Underwriter with Fireman’s Fund.

Peter is a graduate of Hamilton College and remains involved in alumni activities, notably as President of the Hamilton College Men’s Lacrosse Booster Club. Peter also serves as Vice Chairman of the Avon Old Farms School Alumni Council, and as a lacrosse coach for the Wakeman Boys and Girls Club in Southport, CT.
