Neal Maslan is a Partner at The Caldwell Partners International Encino, CA office and the Practice Leader of Healthcare Services. He has more than 30 years of health care management, consulting and executive search experience, serving both the profit and non-profit sectors. His search practice focuses on the board, chief executive officer and direct report levels in private equity/venture capital, distressed debt, and high growth, publicly held healthcare, technology, device, distribution, managed care and provider service companies.
A Partner at Heidrick & Struggles as a result of its acquisition of Highland Partners, Neal was with Highland's predecessor firms of TMP Worldwide Executive Search, LAI Worldwide, and Ward Howell International. Previously, he was Senior Vice-President of American Medical International, Inc., a NYSE company, where he headed the firm's $750mm Western Division and directed its strategic and joint ventures and operations. Neal spent 10 years with Hyatt Corporation as Executive Vice-President, directing the company's hospital management contracts and consulting engagements. He was previously Executive Vice-President of Cenco Hospital and Convalescent Homes Corporation (NASDQ).
Neal is profiled in Harper Collin's The Career Makers as one of America's top 150 executive recruiters; in the second edition of The New Career Makers as one of North America's top 200 executive recruiters; and The Global 200 Executive Recruiters - An Essential Guide to the Best Recruiters in the United States, Europe, Asia and Latin America. He has served as Vice-President of the California Medical Board and as Vice-President of its Division of Medical Quality, by appointment of the California State Senate, and on the Health Care Policy Committee of the California Chamber of Commerce. As a former Executive Committee member of the Board of Advisors of UCLA Medical Center, he also served as Chair of the Management Resources Committee. In addition, he was Chairman of the Ethics and Professional Practices Committee and a member of the Board of the Association of Executive Search Consultants, and has served on the boards of three publicly held companies.
Neal earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia and a Master's degree from Yale University.
