John Strackhouse brings 25 years of search and industry experience
Toronto– March 26, 2014 – Retained executive search firm The Caldwell Partners International Inc. (TSX: CWL) today announced that John Strackhouse has joined the firm as a Partner in the Industrial and Technology practices.

Additionally, his recruiting expertise in private equity and venture capital industry and at the CEO and board level will add important strength to our existing capabilities in those areas.”
Mr. Strackhouse joined Caldwell Partners from Heidrick & Struggles, where he was a partner in the Private Equity and CEO & Board practices. Earlier in his career there, he helped create and co-lead the global e-business practice, which grew to become the largest practice in the firm at the time. John was also the key architect in building the firm’s relationship with the World Economic Forum, and helped to place some of the most influential leaders of the Forum.
Mr. Strackhouse is frequently quoted in leading publications, including Financial Times, BusinessWeek, Newsweek and Fortune, on topics ranging from global talent management and board effectiveness to C-suite leadership. Most recently, he spoke at the Wharton Club in San Francisco on CEO succession. He was also a featured contributor at the 2011 World Economic Forum in Dalian China, where he participated in a panel discussion about cross-cultural compensation.
Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Mr. Strackhouse worked for British Petroleum (ARCO) and served as a general manager for the Tab Products Company. During his early career, he held a progression of management positions in Philadelphia, Atlanta and Toronto.
John received his BA from Pennsylvania State University and serves on the Board for Penn State’s Smeal College of Business.
Based out of Philadelphia, Mr. Strackhouse joins practice teams led by industry-leading technology recruiters Jim Bethmann and Denise Tobin, and renowned industrial recruiter Dave Winston.
